About Royal Homestay - Mirik
Mirik Rangbhang Valley Homestay Owners' Association (MRBHOA) is proud to validate that Royal Homestay, located in Pahlia Gaon, Mirik Busty, holds the distinction of being the oldest homestay in the Darjeeling region. Originally known as Kancha Gurung's Guest House, it began hosting guests in the early 1980s. However, it was in May 1990 that the family officially started maintaining a guest register, marking the first documented guest visit on May 21, 1990.
The guest register, which is kept in exercise books, provides proof of the homestay’s longstanding history and its commitment to providing hospitality. While records only began in the 90s, it is clear that the homestay had been hosting guests for many years prior.
MRBHOA takes great pride in validating Royal Homestay as the "Oldest Homestay" title and extends its warmest wishes to the Gurung family.
