Nestled atop the Delo Hill, Delo Park is one of the finest tourist attractions every traveler should visit. It is one of the two hills between which the town of Kalimpong is built. Kalimpong is located on a crest that connects the Durpin and Deolo hills. The hill, which stands at 1,704 meters above sea level, is Kalimpong's highest point. The hill is located to the town's northeast. Atop this hill is three water reservoirs, two of which serve as the town's principal drinking water source. From this vantage point and the park, the town of Kalimpong, the surrounding villages of Relli valley, and the shimmering Teesta River can be seen in their full glory.
Deolo Park, in fact, the entire hill will take your breath away for sure with its sheer beauty. A path will lead you to a large garden that is home to thousands of plants and blooming flowers. While the somewhat uphill walk can be exhausting, the views from the summit will more than compensate for the effort. Small gift shops and horseback riding are also available for the people who love adventure. It takes an hour to properly explore every corner of the park. Another attraction of the park is its "I Love Kalimpong" signboard in the park's center, which makes for a terrific photo opportunity for visitors. The park is a popular picnic spot for tourists as well as locals. Near the park, there is also a very popular Hindu temple you can visit. In short, Deolo provides a panoramic 360-degree view of Kalimpong town and its neighboring hills.
