Sittong is a huge cluster of villages nestled among the hills in Darjeeling district, West bengal. This ares has gained a mass number of tourists over the past few years and has been a hotspot for tourism. There are many reasons for it; the weather, tea, popular tourist destinations, food, culture and tradition. On the other hand, Dalapchand is a small part of Kalimpong well known for it's mesmerizing view of the hills and the tranquility. Tourist prefer this place as it lies at the center of Kalimpong and Lava, making it easy to travel. Delo is very close from here as it takes only about 15 minutes to reach.
- A car will pick you up from your pickup point. You will start your journey to Sittong via the NH10 highway. Travel along the Teesta river as you make your way to this small village in the hills. On the way, you will come across Coronation Bridge, a British Heritage that looms over the Teesta - Upon reaching Sittong, you will be taken to Aahal Dara Viewpoint. Enjoy the panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges and the valley below that this site has to offer. Next is Namthing Lake, a sacred lake and home to the rare species of Red Salamander. Stop by for lunch at any of the restaurants in Sittong - After lunch, visit the Tar Longho Lepcha Buddhist Monastery, which has been standing since the 18th century, marking it one of the oldest monastery in Darjeeling. After the visit to the monastery, you will be taken to Lepcha Falls, another sacred site that holds religious values. It is a small hike uphill and we prefer old citizens not to go over it since the path is slippery and not suitable for the elderly. The nearby villagers will gladly arrange a guide for you to this beautiful waterfall. If you do not wish to visit the Lepcha Falls, then you can make way to Jogighat Bridge, an architecture that connects two important tourist attraction villages; Sittong and Mungpoo - Return to homestay by evening and check in. End the day with an authentic Nepali cuisine for dinner
- After breakfast and checking out from the homestay, make way towards Mungpoo via Jogighat. Once you reach Mungpoo, your car will take you to Lamahatta via the 3rd Mile route. When you reach Lamahatta, visit the Lamahatta Eco Park. You can also take a small uphill walk to the Lamahatta Lake - Stop by for lunch at any one of the restaurants in Lamahatta. After lunch, head to Gumbadara Viewpoint, as this site offers you a view of the Teesta-river flowing in between the hills of Kalimpong and Sikkim. From there, you will continue your journey to Dalapchand via Peshok Road. You will come across various viewpoint on the way - By evening, you will Kalimpomg. Head straight towards Dalapchand, which is is a short 20 minutes drive from the main town. Check in at your homestay and rest for the day
- After breakfast, visit Delo Eco Park. It offers stunning views and picturesque landscapes. Kalimpong Science Center is just a few minutes away from here - Have lunch at any of the local restaurant, visit Durpin Dara for panoramic view of Mount Kanchenjunga and Teesta River. Explore the Zang Dhok Phalri Phodang Monastery, a significant Buddhist shrine - Enjoy your last evening in Kalimpong by visiting a local café and tasting some authentic momos. Return to homestay by night
- On your final day, check out from your homestay. Your car will drop you to your appointed drop off destination
