    Darjeeling also called as the "Queen of the Hills" holds a lot of hidden gems that are yet to be explored. Takdah, Tinchuley and Lamahatta are one of those gems that have been recently discovered and are slowly getting out in the world. Situated at the eastern side of Darjeeling, these small villages are quite close to the Teesta River, and the view of Mount Kanchenjunga from here is breathtaking. These places rely mainly on tourism, tea and oranges. Visitors often find themselves captivated by the beauty of these villages; the lush green, serene ambience and tranquil ambience make it a perfect holiday destination.

Things to remember
  • Visit Batasia Loop where you can witnesss the Toy Train, a World Heritage Site.
  • Take a walk at Chowrasta at evening as you enjoy the night lights illuminating the town square. 
  • Take a small uphill walk from Lamahatta Eco Park (Lamahatta) to an artificial lake sitting on top of the hill, surrounded by pine trees.
  • Enjoy the breathtaking panaromic view of the Himalayan ranges from Gumbadara Viewpoint (Tinchuley) as you can glance at the majestic Teesta River travelling in between Kalimpong and Sikkim.
  • Visit Takdah during the winter season to enjoy the local oranges and orange harvesting
  • If possible, visit Tiger Hill Sunrise Observatory Viewpoint (Jorebungalow) to witness a sunrise basking over the great Mount Kanchenjunga.

  • Day  3 :  - LTT Tour (Lamahatta-Takdah-Tinchuley)

  • - Check out from the homestay. - Make your way to Lamahatta via Jorebungalow. - Visit Lamahatta Eco Park and Lake. - Lunch at any of the numerous restaurants in Lamahatta. - Visit Gumbadara Viewpoint at Tinchuley. - Visit Takdah Orchid Center. - Check in at homestay in Lamahatta, Takdah or Tinchuley.

  • Day  4 :  - Final Day

  • - Check out from the homestay. - From Lamahatta/Takdah/Tinchuley, exit to Siliguri via NH10. - Travel to siliguri beside the Teesta River as you enjoy the view. - Drop off at your appointed destination.
